These Sculptural Works were part of my "Stallings Island Revisited" series which was based on the Stallings Island People, the indigenous natives of the area in Georgia in which I live. Stallings Island has been extensively studied by archaeologists and their findings have revealed beautiful stone tools and implements they created. Each of the sculptural pieces in this series is made of wood native to our region (cedar or river birch) and built using paper clay. Each sculptural piece features handbuilt replicas of the tools/implements the Stallings Island People left behind.
